31JUL2011 - Surprises

Back from Ashlynn's surprise wedding shower... and it was great! She was very surprised (the look on her face was priceless, I wish I'd had my camera ready for THAT picture)! It was a beautiful, warm and sunny day... we all sat in the yard with drinks and munchies. Really a fabulous day with some great people... thanks to all that planned it! I took quite a few pictures and some great one's inside Tawd's shop, but I've noticed that most of pictures revolve around non-human subjects so I wanted to introduce some humanity into my blog photo library! The picture is of Ashlynn & Heidi... both lovely! I hope you ladies don't kill me, you look fantastic! It's been a good weekend, relaxing and filled with friends and sunshine! Congratulations again Ashlynn & Tawd!

30JUL2011 - Bake Free Zone

I'm looking forward to my relaxing Saturday evening... alone! I have been really busy the last while and it's nice to enjoy a glass of wine, some popcorn and a movie! Especially since I spent a day attempting to bake and discovered... well, more like I'm ready to admit that I can't bake to save my life. Nope, I've invested I don't know how much in baking wares and decorating items and I can't bake. It has always been a serious struggle when I want to bake, between the mess and the ensuing chaos... I love decorating cakes and cookies but the heartache always came in the baking portion! I am ready to admit that I cannot be good at everything and it is OKAY to buy plain cookies (or cakes) and decorate them yourself if that is the part you like. Kind of like those "Colour My World" pottery places, but with cookies. A little sad to know that I am a terrible baker, but somewhat liberating too. Now bring on the wine!

29JUL2011 - Soundgarden

I just got back from Soundgarden... to quote Suzanne, "Magical". Yes, Suzanne tonight was magical! This was one of those shows I didn't think I'd ever get to see and it was amazing, just incroyable! The best part you ask? Well, having purchased the lowest price-bracket ticket for Rogers Arena we were seated in Section 316, Row 12, Seats 5 & 6 (the hockey fans will know how bad those seats are)... Let's just say that the bands looked like ants with guitars... That is until some kind man working with Rogers Arena decided our seats were too terrible and gave us (and most of the people in our section) NEW seats in section 119. Allowing us to actually confirm the men playing for us on stage were indeed the real Soundgarden and not just guys with wigs! We went from being at the very back far-end of the arena to the very side of the stage! My feet are sore, my voice is hoarse and I've suffered some hearing loss... it was a great show. Thank YOU, Soundgarden (with a sincere honourable mention to Queens of The Stone Age)!

28JUL2011 - Birthday Dinner

Big family dinner at Federico's Supper Club on Commercial Street in Vancouver! By big I mean all four of us! We were out for my brother's girlfriend, Noelle's birthday. It was a beautiful sunny evening... the first in a while, so it was a little slow. We did NOT need to bother with the reservation (as you can see in the picture) but it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to birthday dinners! The food and martinis were fabulous, I will definitely be going back AND they have live music and ballroom dancing! Now I just need to find a guy to go dancing with...

27JUL2011 - All Dogs Go To Heaven

A little dog-park adventure with my Oscar and my work buddy Candice and her little pup Turk. We went to this huge dog park in South Surrey (Ocean Park area)... I keep wanting to write "BC" after the places I talk about, but for future reference I will only add province/country specifications if I am OUTSIDE of the Vancouver/Lower Mainland area. Okay, now back to the story...
It was this magnificent park, with a pond and bridges and a wooded area... Oscar loved it! Good recommendation Candice! I had some better pictures of Oscar and Turk, but I feel that this one properly captured the mood of pure excitement! A good night, and I'm home early enough that I can relax and enjoy some lazy time... as crazy as that is! Life is good!

26JUL2011 - Bridging The Gap

Once again I'm running home to try and get to bed before midnight in effort to get more sleep! I really need to manage my time better! Since it's Tuesday, I had dance class! So I'm that great kind of exhausted, but exhausted none-the-less. I had an hour in between classes today so I walked from class to the Golden Ears Bridge to get some shots. That is one empty bridge! My mission was a success and I got some great pictures, this was my favourite!

25JUL2011 - Bottle It Up

Another Monday... a fairly uneventful day all in all... and sometimes that's just the way I like it. Went to Mum's for dinner and took some pictures of one of her Art Nouveau vases... so pretty! This will be another short post... and to be honest, I'm feeling "typers remorse" by over-sharing my feelings on here sometimes. I'm not one to tell people what makes me tick, unless it ticks me off! I'm trying to let people see the "softer" side and it's a little scary... so no feelings today! That will be a good short-term goal, wear my heart on my sleeve a little more...

24JUL2011 - Floral Therapy

My plans changed extremely last minute today... not going to get into that here. Definitely wasn't impressed, but c'est la vie! It gave me the chance to go to "U-Pick Country Flowers" (232nd Street, Langley BC), a cool flower farm that you can either make your own bouquet or they put it together for you! So, I wandered around there for a little while... there were beautiful lilies that I had never seen before, very Dr.Suess-esque. I'll have to go back in a couple of weeks when the sunflowers start to bloom!

23JUL2011 - Christmas in July

My lovely friend Alyssa threw a fabulous party yesterday, her annual "Christmas in July" soiree. Everything was amazing from the food (a real "Christmas" dinner with turkey and all the trimmings) to get decorating and atmosphere! It was an absolute blast! There was a "Ugly Christmas tanktop competition", which I won! I even got my first trophy!! Everyone did a great job on their outfits, it was great to see what everyone came up with! I ended up staying out in Vancouver, so I was unable to post my daily picture yesterday and I'm still a little worse for wear so I won't be overly wordy today.

I was fooling around with my settings after dinner, trying to see if I can get some good night shots. I really don't like my flash and I've yet to get an external flash, so I rarely use it... which makes some lighting situations challenging. I had a fairly slow shutter speed, so it was hard to get a still shot between my subject moving (Clinton, sit still!) and my holding the camera steady (let's just say that by this time I was a few drinks in). All in all, I think it turned out pretty well!

22JUL2011 - TGIF

I'm so glad it's Friday, it's been a very long (and busy) week. I just got home from dancing, so a quick post and then a movie and then... BED! This is another "lazy" picture, there is a park near my Mum's that I stopped by. It's not my favourite picture, but I liked the way the "punchy" colours. I really want to sit down with my notes from my photography course that I took last fall, and really familarize myself with my camera and it's settings... which is definitely the purpose of this whole exercise. But, my notes are buried in my storage unit in a box... and I have no idea which box so until I move in October, I will have to wing it! I should have been more organized before I started this... but that is hind-sight now!

21JUL2011 - Good Intentions

Meg & I had big plans to go to drop-in badminton at the Walnut Grove Community Centre (in Langley, close to where I live for my Manitoba fans). Who knew that you had to call ahead and make reservations for DROP-IN badminton on a Thursday! The girl at the desk also recommended showing up about 30 minutes early to secure a spot (in addition to the phone call an hour prior). Wow, we just wanted to play an innocent game for about 45 minutes, tops... these people are serious! Then we find out you need your own racquet, apparently we were very ill-prepared. So, needless to say we did not play any badminton! We went for a walk in the neighbourhood so we could gossip and catch-up before Meg goes home for a visit for a couple weeks! The picture doesn't really seem to do the sky justice, but it was really pretty with the sun starting to set and the mountains in the background (I know, it stopped raining long enough so we could see the mountains, thank you summer).

It was a nice end to a frustrating day... Friday can't come soon enough!

20JUL2011 - Ink & Needles

I know I'm supposed to only post pictures that I took, but I am very excited... my tattoo is done (except the background, that will come later)!! Tawd at Lady Luck (in Langley) did some fabulous work! So, I'm breaking the rules and posting a picture Tawd took off the finished product!

Then, after my tattoo I got to spend some quality time with my dear Suzanne. I don't get to see her as much as I'd like... I guess life gets in the way. It's always nice to hang out with Suzanne, she is the woman with the answers! We'll be off to see Soundgarden next week, I can't wait!

I'm going to try a novel concept tonight... get some sleep! Let's see how this works! Sweet dreams!

19JUL2011 - Long Gone

My new dilemma: do I move to downtown Vancouver, where single men roam free like elephants in Africa or do I stay in the suburbs because I've kind of got my little life out here? Downtown is so much fun, but I wonder if that ship has sailed. What do you all think? City-life or country-living? Sometimes it's rough being single in the 'burbs... but I do have all my "extra-curriculars" out here to keep me busy. I went swimming and dancing tonight, heaven forbid I stay home with the television for one night! I'm going to sleep well tonight! So before my post-exercise mellow disappears, I must quickly post today's entry!

My Mum keeps pretty much everything, in this picture are a couple of the Chinese Lantern plants that she has let dry and kept. They are spectacular, it's really cool how the veins will remain long after the rest has essentially rotted away.

18JUL2011 - Wide Open Spaces

I am tired, it is late. So this will be brief, since I'm really at a loss for words. Nothing too special about this photograph, just taken from the car in beautiful Surrey, BC. I thought it turned out fairly well considering I was in my Mum's car and the windows are covered with dog-nose prints! You wouldn't know it by looking at the picture!

17JUL2011 - Self Esteem Boost

Today was an errand-day, got a lot done... but wouldn't have minded a little sun and beach time. What is with all the bloody rain? After last night I didn't think there would be any more rain left, seriously. But alas, there was rain left... so it rained, again. I did buy a bathing suit (among other things I didn't really need), so when the sun does come to stay I will be ready. Nothing to build your self-esteem like bathing suit shopping, the stores need to employ a "self-esteem strategist" to stand outside the change-rooms to tell you "you're fabulous, ignore that harsh lighting, you don't look that tired in person!", but they don't! What is up with that... they have to build you back up after knocking you down!

My Mum is also fostering a Miniature Schnauzer named Lucky, he's a big teddy bear. He is ridiculously clumsy, whether it be running into trees or knocking you down, but he is the sweetest dog! Today was a photo-shoot for "Little Paws Rescue" so they could have a picture to put on the website to adopt Lucky out... Lucky isn't really one for sitting still, so it was a challenge. We managed after many shots, some dog biscuit bribery and a squeaky toy... here is my hard-earned shot (the only usable one in the bunch)!

16JUL2011 - It's Raining Rollerskates

Roller Derby was awesome (as always)... Sal's team won! I was late to arrive, but still caught the action! I was late because (as mentioned in my previous post) I took a nap, and since I had about four hours I really didn't think I'd need an alarm. I honestly didn't think I'd sleep that long, but I sure did! Eek. So, I was late! But like I said I still made it and met up with friends. I just want to take this opportunity to give a special shout-out to Noel (you too can get a personalized shout-out on my blog, for three small payments of $19.95... just kidding)! ;)

Then it was off to Mike's house to catch the tail end of the "Tour De White Rock". A cool event that Mike coordinates with the actual Tour De White Rock, except this one is a pub crawl on bicycles! I missed the bike-riding, but made it just in time for an amazing rain storm... thunder and lightning included! I got absolutely soaked when we decided to run around in the rain... and it's actually still pouring now that I'm home, trying to dry off before bed.

All out of words... good night.

15JUL2011 - Catching Up

I'm organized today! Going to finish my post and then go have a nap! I haven't had time for a nap in ages, I am taking full advantage and am quite thrilled! I started the day off early... I went to Mission Possible this morning to serve breakfast to the homeless. A woman I work with has organized group volunteering through my company. I have to admit, and I feel guilty, that when first asked the first thing that crossed my mind was: "but I want to sleep in". I'm glad I got over that, it was a lot of fun, and I'll definitely do it again. It feels great to help out! I recommend it to all... in spite of the early start on a Saturday, it was worth it!

The picture of the day was taken at a train crossing. I'm not sure what the hooks are for, maybe fell off a train car... Anyway, I thought they looked interesting.

As I'm reading back on this post, I feel I might need to point out that although the post title and picture are from 15JUL2011, the actual events I speak of are from today (16JUL2011). I post all of the pictures the next day, so while I write of current events, the photograph is technically a day old. Did that make sense? I don't know why, but I felt the need to attempt clarification. I wonder if I should change this... that is what I will do! I will take the picture AND post it on the same day! Okay, so maybe I'm not quite as organized as I thought. So, you will hear from me again later today with my 16JUL2011 photograph!

14JUL2011 - Minced Words

A long week... I'm ready for the weekend. Alas, an early start tomorrow as I'm volunteering at Mission Possible in East Vancouver... not sure why I do this to myself. I will get some sleep, eventually!

Nothing special about this picture, just playing around. It suddenly occured to me last night that I hadn't taken my daily picture and I had no intention of leaving the house. So I worked with what I had, I like the results if I do say so! So, procrastination paid off, this one time! The Boy Scouts had it right, "always be prepared"... I will be, from here on in!

13JUL2011 - Nomadic Tendencies

I am winding down my epic 2-day meltdown. I don't really want to get into it, but it involves sudden financial loses that involve certain individuals that I haven't spoken to/heard from in over a year... neat-o. Been a rough couple of days, today I even cried my little heart out on the way to work... not my ideal start to the day. But I've got some things sorted out, and I'm hoping that things will turn around and soon. Does anyone else make this many colossal mistakes? Sometimes it sure seems that I'm doing my darndest to fit in my fair share in the shortest time span possible.

Then there was the Nexus application... My boss asked me to apply for a Nexus pass as we do a fair amount of travel. "No problem", I said, thinking it would be an easy 15 minute form online. No dice. My nomadic ways have finally caught up with me, those who know me know that I move a lot. I also change jobs, a lot. Nexus requests all jobs and residences over the last FIVE years, which is easy for normal people. Let me paint a quick picture, I don't measure time in years, I measure it in jobs and apartments (and boyfriends). Five years in real world time = 11 jobs & 7 homes (and 3 boyfriends, I think) in Alexis time... that little equation took me two hours of cross-referencing old ROE's and tax forms to get it all straight. Good Lord! That was a little sobering to see that on paper. I need to sit still for once, no wonder I feel scattered... I never get settled! And I found all sorts of letters and emails and such while going through all this paperwork, some really embarrassing and inappropriate behaviour has plagued my late teen's and early twenties. I was one angry little brat! It is quite the reality check to see those kinds of things in hind-sight... wow. Those who know me now, know I'll say damn near anything... picture that with a snarky, chip-on-my-shoulder twist... sounds delightful, doesn't it? I am grateful for the family and friends that saw through all those emotions that I didn't know how to deal with and stuck around! You've made me the better person I am now.

I'll be moving again in September/October... After that move, I'll start slow, but maybe try to stick to one job AND one apartment for three years. I know, some serious goal-setting here... but look at my track record, this will be a challenge. I can do it! It all boils down to me being happy with me, then I won't have to distract myself so much! That is enough soul-baring for one evening... onto the picture. I am house-sitting with these two cute little kittens, and one sat still just long enough for me to take a picture. Nothing spectacular, but try getting a kitten to sit still! A challenge at best... kind of like me.

12JUL2011 - A Rose By Any Other Name

As you all know by now, Tuesdays are tough for me. But no more, this was my last marathon Tuesday... Next week a new session of dance classes starts and I've spread it out over the week so I don't pull out any more hair! I really am my own worst enemy... but I'm working on that!

So, without much time to spare I had to settle with a subject that was close at hand. My Mum has quite the garden for a little patio, and her roses are lovely. One fuschia, one peach and a bunch of light pink roses were the perfect subject. I really would like to sit down with a still-life of sorts and really muck around with my camera and the settings to get a better feel for how it all works!

This blog has taken on a mind of it's own, I really wanted my posts to be a bit more intellectual. I'm not sure if I'll continue with this "twitter-esque" play-by-play style or try to keep my posts smaller during the week with my decent entry a week. Wow, something else for me to think about and over-analyze! We'll see... I guess I'm only 12 days in, so I have a lot of time to get better at this!

11JUL2011 - Little Paws

So, it’s Tuesday.... Translation: Four hours of dancing = VERY short post. I am (still) exhausted, and I start house-sitting tomorrow… Hoping for some much needed “me” time, but I am my own saboteur, so we’ll see if that happens!

On to the photograph… my Mum fosters many dogs through a great rescue called “Little Paws Rescue”, and this is one of her current fosters. Her name is Princess, but we call her Penny because Princess isn’t the best name (and she doesn’t answer to it anyway). I have no idea what kind of dog she is, but she’s very cute… albeit not the friendliest. I managed to grab a quick shot during naptime… she ran away shortly after.

True to my word… a brief narrative for today. Good night!

10JUL2011 - Wine After The Wedding

Another day, and another post I don't feel like writing. I hope I can come up with some creative things to write, and soon! This photograph was taken at the Church & State Winery just outside of Duncan, BC; went there with my travel-mates Mary, Andrew, Jen & Lisa... a great group!

That's all she wrote, and tomorrow will be another short post with my 3.5 hours of dancing! So lets hope I can catch up on my self and be back to my creative (and opinionated) self soon!

09JUL2011 - Ferries & Photos

Okay, so I failed to bring my camera to Erin & Shannon's wedding, since I wasn't sure what kind of state I would be in and I didn't want to forgot and/or damage my camera... and I completely forgot to charge my little "purse-sized" camera (I hope that other wedding attendees will be kind enough to share their pictures).

So... only pictures I took that day were on the ferry ride from Tswwassen to Victoria, BC. This particular shot is out of the deck... it was a gorgeous day, not too hot but sunny!

08JUL2011 - Dancing Days

I was away over the weekend, so now I must play catch-up. I went to Erin & Shannon's beautiful wedding just outside of Duncan, BC... it was so much fun! I had a blast with at the wedding and then touring some wineries (and one amazing distillery) today. I am absolutely exhausted, I danced my heart out... so, today I feel like I ran a marathon!

I'm broke and tired, but it was great fun! Only one more wedding this summer and then my bank account can recover! Now, I need to recover... so no wordy entries today! This photograph was taken at my friend Jessicia’s birthday party. She has the Michael Jackson Wii game… you have to dance along with the video on screen and be as accurate as you can in order to get the most points. Needless to say, Holly & I were all over that… maybe that’s why I’m so sore, I danced my heart out two nights in a row!

07JUL2011 - Only Pack What You Can Carry

I thought I would take a picture of where the majority of belongings have spent the last few years. It makes me wonder what I could possibly have that I haven't missed in two plus years... maybe it's time to purge! I would like to have less stuff, stuff really holds you back. It's keeping me from leaving the nomadic lifestyle I appear to love. At least once every year or two I either move and/or change jobs. I get bored fast, really fast. I don't feel overly bored right now, I'm hoping to break my personal record of full-time employment... I broke the previous record of 1.5 years at my last job by working 2 months shy of the TWO YEAR MARK! So now at the new job I'm aiming to make it to at least 2 years... nothing like setting goals for yourself!

Life is so expensive and that is the only reason I have a job. Work is really getting in the way of my social life right now! Considering how much it costs when your friends get married (and/or have babies), I will definitely have to stay employed... maybe even get a second job. Since I currently can't see myself getting married and/or having kids, it's going to be an long life of buying others expensive gifts for the choices they've made... any reason why people don't buy you congratulatory gifts for being smart enough to stay single?! I can definitely see people reading that the wrong way, but this is my blog and my opinion... and I appear to have a very small audience, currently. Those that know me, know that I am always full of opinions and ready to share! I'll give you all one guess as to how my last two days have been... brilliant or frustrating?

Time for dinner, then pack for the Island and then a birthday party. I am one busy bee... and this busy bee wants a holiday away!

06JUL2011 - Grain Elevators & Silence

A photo adventure with Meg… we went to this grain elevator-thing in Langley (I say elevator-thing because it not like the grain elevators I’m used to in the prairies). It was an absolutely gorgeous day, dang I love the sunshine!

I had the most frustrating day ever today, so it’s difficult to write about yesterday and the pictures I took. I hate feeling held back, and I really dislike people who talk about nothing. Silence is much better than nonsensical ramblings-on about topics that are clearly beyond their grasp. *Phew* Okay, I feel better and I not going to mention anymore specifics…

Okay, so back to the photograph. We took some great pictures and Meg is always a hoot…. She’s my “co-crafter” (Meg will get it, even if you all don’t). This was one of the first days that I had multiple pictures that I actually liked… always a good problem to have! I really haven’t had the time I want to sit and really play with the settings on my camera. So, I can’t say I’ve learned anything new but the project is young and there is A LOT of time left!

Short and sweet… I can’t sit in front of the computer anymore today! Good night!

05JUL2011 - Cheating Ways

What have I gotten myself into?! This is going to be one long year! I’m sorry to say, but I’m breaking my own rules already. The photograph for 05JUL2011 was actually taken at the same time as the fireworks photos! As I mentioned in my last post, I have dancing fever on Tuesday nights and between that and work I had no time to take a new picture and post the day previous to my blog. I KNOW… terrible! So, I hope you will all forgive me as I’m working to find the balance between all of my current extra-curricular activities and my new year-long project! I sincerely hope this gets easier! Otherwise I may find myself doing photo-shoots at work with my co-workers!

I think this photo is fairly self explanatory… construction. Once an empty lot; it is no longer empty, but the site of a new construction site (more roads and sub-divisions). I really have nothing profound and/or witty to say tonight. I am tired and want to sit in my “lounge-wear” (aka stretchy pants) with a glass of wine watching some bad summer television show… but no dice, at least not tonight.

04JUL2011 - Star Spangled Banner

I made it through another day! Tuesdays are a little rough... it's all self-imposed though, and lets be honest… when is it not?! I have an uncanny ability to keep myself ridiculously busy, and then wonder why I’m so tired! Maybe one day I can learn how to relax… and just be! So… what’s keeping me so busy right now? I started ballroom dancing a couple months ago and for the last three weeks I've had 3.5 hours of dancing on Tuesday nights... it’s insane, absolutely insane, but I love it so much! I went solo and I wish I’d gotten up the nerve to sign up for classes sooner. I waited though, waited for a partner… and it finally occurred to me that I could die waiting! You can’t wait around for others; you must do things on your own accord! So I did and now I can cha-cha with the best of them… okay, not the best of them… but you get the idea! Needless to say, it's exhausting, but I love it. Like I said in my last post this is all going to be an exercise in time management.

So, onto the photo of the day… Holly's parents have a Fourth of July shindig every year... so they provided me with a subject matter I've yet to try: fireworks. In my infinite wisdom (and lack of organization) I forgot my tripod! It was a balancing act of resting the camera on my knee to get some steady shots, but I think it worked out! Let me paint you a picture though, we watched the fireworks near the beach right, situated in front of the train tracks by the Peace Arch (border crossing). A great spot… until the train came roaring in to partially block the grand finale! The train slowed right down, and finally cleared just as the fireworks ended, you had to laugh!

03JUL2011 - Another World

One of two things will happen at the end of this challenge, I will either become the amazing photographer I want to OR I will never want to touch my camera again! I'm not thrilled with my group of photos taken last night. I met up with Kim at the Richmond Night Market... we chatted, ate crazy food, shopped and took some photos. Another great night!

Honestly, I'm finding it hard to fit in time to not only take the pictures but upload and write on them! I had good intentions of writing about my thoughts, composition attempts etc... But that is not happening. I suppose I could be a little easier on myself, time management hasn't always been a strong suite of mine and it's only Day 3. Ok, so at least TWO things will come out of this crazy challenge (one of the above as mentioned in the first paragraph) AND some fabulous time management skills.

02JUL2011 - Well Laid Plans

Another beautiful day... I couldn't be happier, I do love my sunshine. The picture for 02JUL2011 was taken at White Rock Beach (East Beach) whilst en route from a serious walk-about. Holly & I had started off from uptown White Rock walking down to the beach to meet up with others who had been on the beach all day. We arrived to find the tide in and after a bit of sleuthing we located the group at a local pub. However, this pub was at the entire opposite side of the beach... so, off we trekked. This didn’t take long, but long enough that they had left the pub by the time we got there. Needless to say I didn’t wear my walking shoes and my feet are still sore a day later!

Never a total loss, I got to catch up with my girl Holly. Who, like me is pretty busy, so we don’t really see each other as much as we used to. It seems we are slowly moving in different directions; Holly is in love and looks forward to things such as marriage and babies. Those items are definitely not in my immediate future, if at all. This is fine, and I couldn’t be happier for Holly (and for the rest of you that are at this stage in life)! It just doesn’t look like it’s in the cards for me, and it’s quite liberating to come to that conclusion. I do realize this conclusion may be a result in my ability to “really choose ‘em” (in reference to my extremely poor selection in male companions in the past). What doesn’t kill us will only make us stronger; right? If this is the case, I am Hercules.

01JUL2011 - Happy Canada Day!

I would by lying if I said I felt like writing in my blog on a hot, sunny day like today. It's only sunny once every 165 days in Vancouver... I know there will be some backlash from that comment; but it's not far off! So, we'll keep this short. I had some technical difficulties yesterday, so I am posting my 01JUL2011 photo a day late. I know, not a good sign that I'm one day in and already have trouble with the ol' computer!

I went to Fort Langley (BC) with my Mum & brother (Nicholas) yesterday; this photo was taken inside one of the buildings. Nothing grand but I love history and museums and such. Fort Langley is usually a fun day and they always have bannock... I love bannock.

Short and sweet, I certainly hope my entries become a little more witty in nature otherwise a year of this might be painful!
